3. Making Calls & Sending Texts
Calls & Texts in USA & Hawaii
To make calls in USA and Hawaii dial the local USA numbers directly. No prefix is required.
Calls & Texts to Australia
To make calls and send texts to Australia, make sure to use the Australia prefix +61 followed by the mobile number without the 0 (first digit) Eg. +61 430 123 456.
Note: If incorrect dial out codes are used, you will receive a nil balance/top up message - This is because the network does not recognise the location of the number you're dialling. It does not mean you've run out of credit.
Receiving Calls & Texts From Australia
Your friends and family can call and text your assigned USA number by dialling the USA prefix +1 Eg. +1 123 456 7890. Incoming calls are free for you. If the person calling you does not have free calls to USA numbers as part of their plan, they may be charged international calling rates.
To receive calls and send texts from Australia, we recommend using VoIP apps such as Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook Chat, Wechat, Skype etc.
4. Checking Balances
The easiest way to monitor data usage is via your phone's network settings. There should be a data tracker which lets you know how much data has been used since inserting the SIM.
The other method is to register an account with Ultramobile after successful activation of your SIM card. You will need to sign up and login at: https://my.ultramobile.com/login
6. FAQs
Q. I am traveling for more than 30 days. Can the USA & Hawaii SIM be recharged?
A. Unfortunately recharges are not possible. We recommend picking up multiple SIMs and staggering the activation dates to cover the entire duration of your travels.
Q. I have run out of data. Can I top up/add more data?
A. Unfortunately data top ups are not possible. We recommend buying multiple SIMs and staggering use.
Q. Can I forward calls from my Australian number to my USA mobile number?
A. You will need to check with your Australian carrier if they allow call diversions to international numbers. This is because anyone calling you may not be aware they're being diverted to an international number, which may cost them.
Q. I have activated my SIM, calls and texts are working but data is not working?
A. If calls and texts are working but data is not. Please check that the APN your device has automatically configured to is correct. https://www.ultramobile.com/setup
